The major activity of KISR research departments is to provide development researches and studies to the Kuwaiti society, which are initiated internally or by external entities.
The conducted studies have
almost a typical lifecycle supported by several GIS services. This lifecycle comprises
4 main stages, where the GIS is involved:
1) Research Data Approval, the Geoinformatics Centre is responsible
to identify whether needed data exists, needs to be collected, or acquired from
third parties.
2) Research Data Collection, the required spatial data
is delivered from the Geoinformatics Centre to the relevant division, in a suitable format
and manner.
3) Research Data Analysis, GIS data is analyzed,
manipulated, illustrated, plotted and exported. The required spatial analysis is
done with the help of the GISCenter or through utilities provided by the Geoinformatics Centre
.
4) Research
Result Reporting, maps are produced as part of the analysis results. Reporting
is again done with the help of the GISCenter
or through utilities provided by the Geoinformatics Centre .
